Abstract

Organizations continually need to evaluate their performance in order to make the right decisions. Management indicators are instruments used by companies to monitor their performance and support their decisions. Proper cost management generates information that enables better use of resources and decisions to improve management indicators, such as productivity and business profitability. The article reviews the cost classifications and their characterization in the cost structure of a food retail business.
